This page is dedicated to connecting the people to the CONNECTORS music. I’ve known and been a fan of the CONNECTORS for decades and their music never gets old. A lot of their music deals with social positions and relatable subjects that everyday people can relate too.
The CONNECTORS originate from South Texas, the Brownsville South Padre Island scene. Over the years I have recorded them playing live in clubs and concert like venues. and will post some classic CONNECTORS music.
“Our music is definitely a blend of Reggae, Tex-Mex, ’60s and ’70s rock. We’re kind of like a cross between Los Lobos and The Police,” “There’s this sub-conscious Latin flavor that comes out in our music and it adds to the band,” – Joey Tamayo
A three-piece Band with lots of friends…
The CONNECTORS consist of Albert Besteiro, rhythm and lead guitar, backup vocals, lead vocals on some catchy tunes like ‘COOL LOU’, ‘RED EYES’, ‘NOW IS A GOOD TIME’. Freddie Longoria, Bass guitar, backup vocals, lead vocals, ‘AND SHE’ on their studio CD. Joey Tamayo, Drums, percussions, backup vocals, lead vocals on most of the songs.
‘RICE AND BEANS’ the CONNECTORS debut album has classics like ‘SWAHILI’, ‘LA MIGRA’, ‘LA VIDA ES SIMPLE’ (life is so simple), AND ‘I’M DOING FINE’ to name a few. I have discovered more classic songs not making the top 25 for the CD, like ‘CORONA’, ‘I DON’T LIKE TO SMOKE ALONE’ and the blues hit ‘EL VATO BLUES’. ‘SIMULATOR’ another favorite was played at the Battle of the Bands concert in Mercedes Texas, a crowd favorite.
